Why this site?
Well, I have been a Rush fan for quite some time and have always felt they had musical talent far beyond that of most bands past and present. A while back, I came across a petition to induct Rush into the RnR HoF. While I have never followed the HoF, it blew me away to find out Rush wasn’t actually in it. It was also an even bigger shock to see some of the bands that were in it.

Being a musician, I have always appreciated what Rush was about and how they have inspired me. I also appreciated the fact that Rush was never the commercial engine that almost all other bands are. They have always done it their way for them and not corporate America (sorry, I have never heard the phrase Corporate Canada, but you get the idea).

So, not trying to snub the HoF, one has to wonder which side of the fence matters; the commercial side or the music side. Yes, I realize that the music industry is a business, but music is music. Music inspires you, it moves you, it makes you tap your fingers to the beat and it makes you sing out loud at the office (hopefully when nobody is around). At the end of the day, do you think I care how many albums Rush sold or how many mall appearances they did, or if they have a video game made after them, made a Pepsi commercial, had their new album played on the radio all day, that Neil’s face isn’t on a Wheaties box (ok, that would be cool)….NO. It’s all about the music, the rock n roll music, the same rock n roll that has a HoF in which Rush is devoid.

I could go on and on, but that’s not why we’re here…..

The reason for this site is several fold, one it’s a place to discuss or tell stories of how Rush has influenced you and why you believe they belong in the HoF. It is also a place to hopefully get some insight as to why the HoF doesn’t induct them. I have never read a single reason why they have not been inducted. Obviously, there is a reason. The HoF can’t be that naïve to have completely overlooked them. I for one would like to know why.

Now, a little about this site: I have created this site on my own free will. I am not affiliated with Rush or any of their labels or affiliates. I have nothing to gain by doing this; I just want to facilitate HoF discussions. Rush does not endorse this site or any of its content. I just hope they aren’t offended by it.

Enjoy

Rush Interview And Tom Sawyer on The Colbert Report
For those who missed it, Rush was on the Colbert Report in July. It was great, first time on American TV in over 30 years. Check it out!

This Site Update
I have not done anything with this site since the R30 tour because I had become so disenchanted with the RRHoF and what they stood for. For the most part, I still am and quite frankly given what I know off the RRHoF, don’t think they are worthy of calling Rush one of their own. I was pretty much content on letting this go, but I started to realize, there are quite a lot of people who look at the RRHoF to see who’s who in rock and roll. Once they see Rush isn’t there, they figure they can’t be “that” good. Well, for those of us who have been following them for 25+ years, we know better.

So if you are here thinking the RRHoF is the end-all and want to see why there is such a following for Rush, take a peek around, you may learn something.

Truth be told, if rush ever gets into the Hall, it won’t change a darn thing for us loyal fans. It’ll just be an opportunity to show the musically challenged out there that Rush has yet another of many feathers in their cap. For those of you who are new to Rush, welcome to the musical ride of your life!
